Abstract

Objectives: This study aims to identify the news frames employed by Iraqi satellite channels and to clarify their role in promoting a culture of integrity among the public, particularly in an environment marked by an increasing need for responsible media that contributes to reinforcing ethical and societal values.
Methodology: This research falls within descriptive inferential studies and relied on a field survey method. A questionnaire was administered to a sample of 400 respondents from Baghdad Governorate (center), distributed across districts within the Baghdad Municipality boundaries. The sample was selected using a simple random cluster sampling method (multi-stage) to ensure realistic and diverse representation of the target population.
Results: The findings reveal that Iraqi satellite channels employ a variety of news frames when covering issues of integrity and transparency, and that these frames have varying effects on shaping public awareness. Balanced, data-driven, and accountability-based media coverage was found to enhance a culture of integrity among the public, whereas sensational or overly generalized framing weakened this effect.
Conclusion: The study concludes that news framing plays a fundamental role in building a culture of integrity among the Iraqi public, and that the effectiveness of this role is directly linked to the quality and objectivity of media treatment. The researcher recommends that satellite channels adhere to standards of professionalism and transparency in covering corruption and integrity issues, thereby enhancing trust between media and the public and reinforcing responsible behavior within society.
