Editorial Policies

Addition and Corrections

The Additions and Corrections policy is used to solve significant issues, correct errors, and oversights that appear after the publication of an article. However, it is important to note that the policy does not encompass the reporting of subsequent scientific progress or improvements, which often involve the reinterpreting of published data. Both the author(s) and the editor have the authority to initiate Additions and Corrections, following discussions with the corresponding author.

If readers detect significant errors in the work of others, it is recommended that they contact the corresponding author of that work. All Additions and Corrections are carefully reviewed and approved by the Editor. Please note that minor corrections and additions will not be published. Authors should submit their Additions and Corrections through the corresponding author account in ABAA online submission system. The corresponding author is responsible for obtaining approval from all coauthors of the article before submitting an Addition and Correction, or providing evidence that such approval has been obtained.

The submitted addition/correction manuscript file should include the following:

  • Title lines: These lines should contain the title, authors, affiliations, and citation of the main published paper.
  • The submitted addition/correction file: It should provide an explanation of the specific corrections and their reasons. Furthermore, it is important to include a statement indicating whether the conclusions of the paper have been affected, and if so, the specific way in which they have been affected.
  • Equal responsibility of all authors: It is essential to know that all authors are considered of equal responsibility for any errors identified in the manuscript. Authors regret statement for the mistake may be added. However, statements assigning responsibility for errors to specific authors or individuals should be avoided.
  • Correction of graphics: If any graphics require correction, the manuscript file should contain the corrected graphics, accompanied by clear and descriptive captions that explain the contents of the figures. The figures should be appropriately numbered to match the figure numbers in the original paper being corrected.

Revised Manuscripts

Authors are requested to promptly return a revised manuscript to the Editor after receiving it for revision. Failure to submit the revision within 21 days will result in considering the manuscript as withdrawn. In some cases, revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers. If the revisions are deemed minor, the editor may review the revised manuscript.

Upon resubmission, two forms of the revised manuscript should be submitted:

(a) The primary revised manuscript document file, which should be free of any highlighting or editing marks.

(b) A marked copy of the revised manuscript, with clear highlighting of all the changes made during the revision process. This file should be uploaded separately from the primary manuscript file and should be labeled as Supporting Information for Review.

The revised manuscript must be accompanied by a letter from the author, which should provide a comprehensive response to the comments and suggestions raised by the reviewers and editor. The letter should address each comment individually, providing a detailed of how the author has addressed them. Both the original and revised manuscript submission dates will be included in the publication.

Normally, manuscripts that have been declined from ABAA Journal are not reconsidered. However, in exceptional cases, authors may have the opportunity to re-submit a previously declined paper for reconsideration.
